Retro celebrations of the ’50s, ’60s. 70’s and 80’s
My Special Event is working alongside local charity Bognorphenia hosting a Retro Charity Fundraising Day called “Retrofest”
Bognorphenia is a charity run by Kez Bridger and it supports community events by fundraising for young people’s activities. One of Bognorphenias biggest events is “Our Generation Young People’s Day”. This event is normally held in September in Bognor Regis and is a fun-packed family day filled with music, stalls and entertainment.
Bognorphenia is a community interest company that celebrates the past, the present and the future. We hold regular live music events locally, supporting the wider community & young people.

Alternatively, if you fancy coming to see what Bognorphenia do, pop along to their next event which they are co-hosting with My Special Event.
Retrofest is on all day from 2 pm till late in the evening. It is a celebration of everything from the 1950s to the 1980s. We have throughout the day Bands and Live Entertainment as well as a DJ. We will be belting out all those familiar tunes from these Retro eras and some you will recognise and some you may have forgotten about. We have the following entertainers throughout the day:
- Slim Jim and the Wildcards – A bit of 50’s Rock and Roll
- Sarah Saville – Tribute to the ’80s
- Dustin’s
We will also have vintage/retro stalls selling everything from vinyl to retro clothing. We will have a local artist Sandra Louisa displaying some of the work as well as our Retro Video Gaming which is supplied by My Special Event and Jan Pniewski.
Food and Drink will be available throughout the event and then in the evening, we will continue the entertainment with a ticket only event. Some of the evening entertainment will include:
- If 6 Was 9 – Jimi Hendrix Tribute
- Dealer – Band playing 1960’s to present day
- Terry Carvey (Headline Act – Offering a mixture of Soul, Funk and Motown)

Time: 2 pm – 6 pm (family part) 6 pm till closing (Evening entertainment)
Where: Newtown Sports and Social Club, Greencourt Drive, Bognor Regis West Sussex, PO21 5EU
Entry: Suggested Donation (£3) Daytime/ Afternoon 2 pm till 6 pm
Evening Entry: TICKETED ONLY EVENT £5pp (Adults and over 16+)
