Wedding Fayre Success Before Lockdown

Wedding and Events Fayre

Wedding Fayre went ahead just before Coronavirus Lockdown

My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds Wedding and Events Fayre which was scheduled for Sunday 15th March 2020 went ahead just before measures were put in place for the Coronavirus Lockdown.

Wedding Fayre – Umming and Ahhing

My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds spoke at length about whether or not their Wedding and Events Fayre should go ahead on Sunday 15th March due to the current virus outbreak. At that stage, the country wasn’t on lockdown and it was advised that gatherings of 500 people or more were not supposed to take place.

Our Wedding and Events Fayre was estimated to expect 100 guests (on a normal day) and we received 25 couples and their friends and family through our doors, so overall no more than 50 people were estimated to have attended our event.

Fabulous Stallholders Supported Us From Beginning to End

My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds had marvellous support from their stallholders before, during and after the event. Although, unfortunately some of the stallholders had to pull out of the event before and on the actually event day for various reasons, mainly health reasons, there were still over 15 stallholders present from the original 20!

Early Start, Busy Day Ahead and Exhausting Ending

The whole event from start to finish was one of exhausting fun. Unfortunately my co-host Chloe had to pull out of the event due to family health issues but My Special Event managed to run the whole day from start to finish with only a few minor hiccups which were dealt with professionally and quickly.

Wedding Fayre – Prep The Night Before

The set-up began at 8 am and we had set-up previously the night before the event with the tables and My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds individual stalls which helped us the following day. The Sunday morning before the event commenced at 10 am was full of making sure all the other suppliers were settled and happy and the pop-up cafe was ready with all our delicious cakes and drinks.

A Special Start for a Special Event

The Wedding Fayre was opened by our very own Toastmaster Lawrence McKenna and music by The Regis Jazz Band. They played for the first hour and welcomed guests into our event with their wonderful jazz tones and outfits. A definite for someone who would like something different for their event, playing a huge variety of music and also having Toastmaster Lawrence McKenna, adds a professional touch to any event.

Wedding Fayre – Couples Attend But Safety Measures Are Put in Place

My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds took all the government advice on board about Covid-19 and Coronavirus and put extra measures in place for their event. The Wedding and Events Fayre’s venue was given a deep clean and there was plenty of hand sanitiser and soap in place. Volunteers and stallholders worn gloves if they wanted to and signs offering advice and guidance were put up for guests to abide by.

We felt the extra measures we put in place were necessary and to protect both ourselves, our stallholders and guests. No one could attend the event without abiding by the rules set in place. We are thankfully everyone abides by the rules and the event was a success on the day despite the circumstances presented to us.

Marvellous Entertainment to Lighten the Circumstances

Throughout the event, My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds provided their guests with entertainment. They had Hollie Chapman, Professional Violinist and Mark Lake perform for their guests with a variety of songs and styles unique to them.

Delicious Cakes and Drinks in Our Pop Up Cafe

As well as offering entertainment for our guests, My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds offered yummy treats in their Pop up Cafe. We offered homemade and professional cakes, as well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate. Those people not wishing to have hot drinks we offered squash. All refreshments were offered at a small cost and enjoyed by all who attended the fayre. We did however, have cakes left over so our wonderful stallholders had some to take home and enjoy.

Goodies Offered All Day Long

Everyone who attended My Special Event and The Vintage Tea Birds Wedding and Events Fayre on Sunday 15th March 2020 received a goody bag full of wonderful freebies and information leaflets from our stallholders and other companies. We had 100 goody bags to hand out and although we didn’t reach maximum capacity, the people who received them were overjoyed and loved all the goodies included.

Every stallholder was busy throughout the day and had people to chat to about all their wonderful upcoming events. We had a steady flow of people throughout the day and by the end of the day we ere all worn out but pleased how the event went.
